Quotable:
PCC starting pitcher, Casey Popham: “It was great getting back on the mound today, as it has been about two years since I have started a game. On the bus ride to field, I was thinking about all of the hardships that I have overcome the last couple of years. I’m grateful for my family, friends and coaches for pushing me throughout Covid and all the down time. I’m coming into my freshman season as a completely new pitcher than I was in high school and I’m grateful that PCC has given me the opportunity to compete. Today was a great team victory for us against a very good team and everyone contributed well. If we hit the way we do and pitch the way our staff can, it will be a very exciting year for us.”
