Boys Basketball:
For a brief moment on Wednesday night, a massive upset seemed to be brewing.
Colony, ranked 11th in the most recent CIF-SS Division 1 poll, led unranked Glendora by one point, and with just over a moment to play.
The Titans, however, took advantage of a GHS turnover, which resulted in a slam dunk on the other end of the court.
Colony would finish the game on an 8-0 run, and defeated the Tartans, 60-51.
In their six Palomares League games, the Titans average margin of victory is 75-48.
GHS was led by Luke Jacobson, who had 17 points, nine rebounds and two assists.
Noah Smith finished with 16 points, two rebounds and three assists.
Chris Lee contributed seven points, three boards and three assists, and Braydon Wooldridge chipped in with six points, four rebounds and three assists.
Jadyn Simpson and Jaden Henley paced the Titans attack with 18 points each.
Donald Bluitt had 12 points and Denzel Hines provided eight points in the win.
The only drama in the Palomares League is whether Ayala or Glendora earns the league’s second seed.
With four games to play, the Bulldogs and Tartans are 4-2.
Ayala defeated Alta Loma, 68-52.
The Bulldogs have to travel to Colony in their final games of the season on Feb. 3.
Up next: GHS travels to Bonita on Friday.
