Boys Basketball:
COVID-19 has played a disastrous role in our lives over the last two years.
The lucky were just inconvenienced, but many lost their jobs, homes and worst of all, 871,000 of our fellow Americans have passed away from the pandemic.
Way down the rung of importance on the Covid ladder is the disruption it made on our high school student athletes.
Many never got a full or uninterrupted senior season and that includes those on the Pasadena boys basketball program.
For the first time in what is believed to be 16 years or more, PHS will not claim the Pacific League championship.
The Bulldogs dropped a pair of games in a shortened Pacific League slate, while Crescenta Valley goes into its regular season finale with Arcadia unbeaten.
Pasadena finished out their regular-season schedule with a 63-48 victory over visiting Glendale.
Jason Guyton led all scorers with 20 points, which included four 3-point baskets.
Nine of Teddy Reyes’ 12 points came from 3-point land.
Fidel Cabrera had 10 points in the win.
Ethan Patterson and Desmond Every both chipped in with eight points each, and both had a pair of 3-point baskets.
Up next: PHS will end the regular season on Friday at Muir.
