Boys Basketball:
Glendora and Ayala met up Monday night with identical 3-1 records in Palomares League play.
The Tartans and Bulldogs were one-game back of first-place Colony.
And with five games remaining, GHS took a one-game lead for second place after their 62-48 victory over their visitors from Ayala.
Glendora erased a 1-point deficit after the first quarter, and went on to outscore the Bulldogs, 52-25, the rest of the way.
Luke Jacobson led all scorers with 23 points, as well as 12 rebounds and two assists.
Noah Smith chipped in with 20 points, four rebounds and seven assists.
Braydon Wooldridge continued his solid play with 10 points and five boards.
Ayala’s Jermaine Rogers had a team-high 22 points.
Zack Murphy chipped in with 13 points for the Bulldogs.
And Nate Cipriano finished with eight points.
Up next: Glendora and Ayala will both be in action on Wednesday.
The Tartans host first-place Colony and the Bulldogs welcome last-place Alta Loma to their gym.
