Boys Basketball:
Etiwanda used a seven-point, second-half advantage to nip Damien, 45-39, in Friday’s Baseline League battle of southern section powers.
Jacob Barcelo led EHS with 12 points.
Jimmy Baker had nine points in the win, four of which came in the fourth quarter.
RJ & Kaleb Smith both contributed a team-high 12 points for Damien.
Jimmy Oladokun chipped in with seven points for the Spartans.
The Eagles held the DHS offense to 16 points under its lowest scoring output of the season.
Up next: Etiwanda meets up with Colony (18-1) tonight (Saturday) at the State Preview Classic at Colony HS.
The tip is set for 6:30.
Damien will host Upland on Tuesday night in a Baseline League contest.
