Boys Basketball:

That’s about as even as it gets.

In Glendora’s Palomares League contest at Alta Loma, the Tartans outscored the Braves by one point in each of the first three quarters, and both programs scored 16 points in the fourth period.

GHS would improve to 3-1 in league games after picking up a 60-57 victory.

For the second time this season, Braydon Wooldridge led the Tartans in scoring.

Wooldridge finished with a game-high 22 points, six rebounds and two assists.

Luke Jacobson added 19 points, 11 rebounds and an assist.

Noah Smith chipped in with 10 points, six boards and six assists.

Kye Conway led ALHS with 12 points.

Jace Conway (11), Dirk McCoy (10), Dave Aubrey (9) and Isaac Drissel (8) combined to score 38 points for the Braves.

Up next: GHS will host Ayala on Monday at 7.

Quotable:

GHS coach, Gordon Hamlow: “I was pleased with how the kids responded after a tough loss on Wednesday to Colony, and a rough start to the game this evening. We played with poise in the second half, rebounded well defensively, and moved the ball well.”

GHS senior, Braydon Wooldridge: “It’s hard getting ready for a game day not knowing if you’re actually going to end up playing that night or not. Coach Hamlow does a great job of keeping us ready throughout the week no matter what happens, and we have a good group of senior leaders that help as well. We were a little short-handed in spots this week, but we did a good job of holding it together and working through this adversity. I know with the more cancellations we might play three or four games in a week, but I know we are prepared to do whatever is asked of us the rest of the way.”
