West Covina Edges Wilson of Hacienda Heights, 6-5, in Wednesday’s Nonleague Thriller

Girls Water Polo:

West Covina hung tough in Wednesday’s nonleague showdown at Wilson of Hacienda Heights.

The Bulldogs trailed the Wildcats, 3-1, after the first quarter, but WCHS would outscore Wilson the rest of the way to claim a 6-5 victory.

Sam Guerra had eight saves in the Bulldogs’ victory.

Aliana Solorzano led WCHS with three goals, and she was also credited with shutting down Wilson’s primary shooter all game long

Genesis Moradel scored a pair of goals.

Andrea Salazar played through a nose injury and gave West Covina its first lead of the game late in the third quarter

Madison Vasquez and Salma Valle did their part, locking down the Wildcats on the defensive end.
