Boys Basketball:

San Dimas continued its solid start to the 2021-22 season.

The Saints defeated Alta Loma, 48-42, on Saturday night to clinch the consolation championship.

SDHS is now 6-1.

San Dimas scored just four first-quarter points until its offense was able to find a rhythm.

Ethan Chavez had a team-high 10 points for the Saints.

Zaye Salgado and Malachi Otero both contributed eight points apiece.

Braeden Zemetra chipped in with seven points in the win.

Dirk McCoy paced the Alta Loma offense with 11 points.

Dylan Berg had 10 and David Aubrey chipped in with eight points for the Braves.

Up next: SDHS will host their rivals from Bonita on Monday at 7.

Quotable:

SDHS coach, Jeremy Ketterling: “I really love this group of kids. They are very enjoyable to coach. They’re all high-quality kids, who are coachable and very unselfish. They get along well with each other and that makes it a lot of fun. We had a tough loss last Monday night against a very talented and well-coached Paramount team, but I was really happy with the way the kids responded and we’ve won the last three games of the tournament. This week will be a great challenge, as we face really tough competition in Bonita, Diamond Bar, Los Osos and Bishop Amat. I’m hoping these games prepare us for league and the playoffs.”
