Derek Peterson scored 21 of his game-high 32 points in the second half and overtime for La Salle.
Myles Blackman chipped in with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Ayala’s offense featured 21 points from Jermaine Rogers.
Rogers hit four 3-point baskets in the second half.
Nathan Cipriano, Zack Murphy and Dylan Victorio had nine points apiece for Ayala.
Quotable:
La Salle coach, Mike Lynch: “This was by far our best win of the early season. We came back from 18 points down in second quarter to win in OT. I love this for our team. They deserved the win, because collectively, we played great second-half team defense. Derek (Peterson) came alive just when we needed him to. He stayed in attack mode and scored almost effortlessly. Myles Blackman played big for us offensively, but more importantly, he rebounded the ball ‘big time.’ It was a great team win.”
Up next: The Lancers and Bulldogs will be in action on Saturday at the San Dimas Tournament.
