Better late than never.
In Friday’s CIF-SS Division 5 quarterfinal, neither Chino Hills nor Summit were able to put any points on the board in the first half.
The Huskies, however, got seven points in the third period and eight more at the end of the fourth to outlast Summit, 15-8.
Bobby Johnson connected with William Davis on a 44-yard TD pass with 1:49 to play in the third quarter.
Johnson would then toss a 7-yard scoring pass to Jacob Espinoza with 19 seconds to play for the game winner.
Up next: The Huskies will travel to Valencia next Friday with a spot in the D-5 finals at stake.
The top-seeded Vikings (6-4) defeated La Habra, 24-6, in their quarterfinal round contest.
