Chino Hills spotted visiting St. Genevieve a 7-0, first-quarter lead in Friday’s CIF-SS Division 5 first-round playoff game.
But the Huskies offense got it together and the defense shut the undefeated Valiants out the rest of the way.
And Chino Hills punched its ticket to the quarterfinal round thanks to a 17-7 victory.
Chino Hills quarterback Bobby Johnson had two rushing TD’s in the win.
Kade Musser’s interception with 1:25 left in game sealed the victory for the Huskies
Up next: CHHS will travel to Fontana next Friday to take on Summit.
The SkyHawks (9-2) picked up a 22-21 road victory at El Toro.
