Football:
It took six weeks longer than they would have liked, but the La Salle High School football program got their first win of the 2021 season last night.
The Lancers defeated visiting Mary Star, 33-14, in a Del Rey League contest.
Angelo Godoy had a breakout game, rushing for 222 yards on 22 carries.
Godoy scored a pair of TD’s in the win.
Rashaad Austin carried the ball 12 times for 70 yards and a score.
Richie Munoz threw for 200 yards and a TD, and the Lancers junior scored once with his feet.
Matthew Gamble led the La Salle defense with eight tackles.
And Andrew Boecking tallied five tackles, including two for a loss.
Up next: La Salle will travel to Harvard-Westlake on Friday, and they’ll finish out their regular season schedule on October 28, when they’ll host first-place Salesian.
