Football:
It wasn’t the offensive explosion that many expected out of Glendora, but the Tartans improved to 8-0 after Thursday’s 28-7 victory over Colony in the Citrus 4 League opener.
GHS, fresh off their bye week, got out to a 28-0 lead, before the Titans got a 31-yard TD run from AJ Jones in the fourth quarter to avoid the shutout.
Braydon Brus rushed for 100 yards on six carries, and that included a 2-yard TD run.
Zach Ford gained 45 yards on 12 carries and the Tartans’ sophomore had a 14-yard TD run.
Reggie Johnson tallied five receptions for 71 yards.
And Johnson caught a 17-yard TD pass from Jake Denerson.
Denerson completed 9 of 14 for 97 yards and the score.
Christian Sampson picked off a Colony pass and brought it back 65 yards for a TD.
Roen Spain blocked a Titans’ punt.
Up next: GHS will travel to Los Osos next Friday.
