This one is a no brainer.
Monrovia quarterback Noah Rodriguez and his favorite target, Carlos Hernandez, put on a two-man show that had fans entertained and impressed throughout Friday night’s contest.
The Wildcats duo connected on 14 completions/receptions for 270 yards and four TD’s in Monrovia’s 36-17 victory at San Dimas.
Hernandez caught TD passes of 65, 22, 13 and 18 yards.
For his part, Rodriguez went 22 of 31 for 388 yards and the four scores.
Rodriguez leads all SGV quarterbacks in completions, total passing yards and TD’s.
At the halfway mark, Rodriguez has now completed 75 of his 110 pass attempts for 1,461 yards.
He’s thrown for 17 touchdowns and only been picked twice.
Rodriguez has a near 70-percent completion ratio.
He’s also rushed for 88 yards and four scores.
Hernandez is now No. 1 in the SGV in receptions, receiving yards and TD’s.
Hernandez has 36 receptions for 774 yards.
He’s also reeled in 12 touchdown catches.
Hernandez averages 22 yards per catch and 155 receiving yards per game.
Through these first five games, Rodriguez and Hernandez just passed their highly-skilled counterparts at Pasadena, Kaden Taylor and Mekhi Fox.
Taylor has 58 completions for 1,212 yards and 14 TD passes.
Fox has tallied 29 receptions for 750 yards and eight TD’s.
At 5-0, and with the Rio Hondo League portion of their schedule getting underway this Friday at La Canada, Monrovia has a very high likelihood of entering the playoffs at 10-0.
