Malia Kirton and her Los Osos teammates had a successful past week, going 5-1.
Most importantly, the Grizzlies won their first two Baseline League matches of the season.
On Tuesday, LOHS picked up the road sweep at St. Lucy’s.
And 48 hours later, the Grizzlies handed Upland just their third loss of the season.
Los Osos edged the Highlanders in five games, and in one week, they went from winless in league play, to a three-way tie for second place with Upland and Etiwanda.
Malia Kirton, the Grizzlies senior libero, had a big role in each of the five victories this week.
But it was her 27 digs at St. Lucy’s and 37 digs in the five-set victory over Upland that has LOHS in the thick of things.
Up next: Los Osos has a pair of Baseline League matches this week.
On Tuesday, the Grizzlies host Chino Hills and two days later, LOHS will travel to rival, Rancho Cucamonga.
Both matches are slated for 6 p.m.
