Los Osos and Rancho Cucamonga battled it out Tuesday night like all great rivals do.
The Cougars outlasted the Grizzlies in the Baseline League opener by scores of 18-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-15 and 15-10.
Brianna Brewer had a team-high 16 kills in the win.
RCHS’ Andrea Brewer added 27 assists.
Nayeli Marquez and Savana Styles finished with 13 digs apiece.
For Los Osos, Maddie Carlson, their senior setter, put up 33 assists, two blocks and seven digs.
LOHS senior libero Malia Kirton had five aces, 25 digs and a 1.70 pass percentage.
Up next: The Cougars will host Chino Hills and the Grizzlies travel to undefeated Etiwanda.
Both matches are set for Thursday evening.
