Glendora went into Covina District Field on Friday night as the heavy favorite against their host from Covina High School.
The Tartans did what was expected of them, and defeated the Colts, 42-7.
GHS got 21 points in both the first and second quarters and then took their foot off the pedal.
Covina got a fourth-quarter score to get on the scoreboard.
Jake Denerson completed 6 of his 10 pass attempts for 133 yards.
Denerson threw a pair of TD’s to Reggie Johnson and a 14-yard score to JoJo Najarro.
In all, Reggie Johnson caught three passes for 101 yards, including scoring strikes of 52 and 21 yards.
Zach Ford had nine carries for 44 yards and two TD’s.
Braydon Brus got just one carry on Friday, but it went for a 24-yard touchdown.
Up next: Covina will host Diamond Bar on Thursday, and Glendora will welcome Charter Oak to Citrus College on Friday night.
