Football:
Pasadena got off to a quick start in Friday’s season opener at Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks.
The Bulldogs scored 21 first-quarter points and led 21-7 after the first 12 minutes.
The Knights, though, outscored PHS, 40-17 the rest of the way, and claimed a 47-38 victory.
Kaden Taylor completed 17 of 25 passes for 306 yards.
The PHS senior threw for three TD’s and was picked off twice.
Taylor also rushed for 60 yards on 11 carries.
Daylon Beasley led the PHS ground attack with 87 yards on 10 carries, and one TD.
Mekhi Fox opened his senior season with a huge game.
Fox had 10 receptions for 240 yards and a score.
Fox tallied 306 all-purpose yards, including 92 on kick/punt returns.
Jamir Allen caught two passes for 33 yards and a TD, and Jason Sanford had three receptions for 40 yards and a score.
Notre Dame recovered two of Pasadena’s four fumbles.
Ahmad Jolley and Daylon Beasley had 11 tackles apiece to lead the Bulldogs defense.
Up next: PHS will host El Camino Real on Friday.
