Football:

The Chino Hills-Ayala Battle for the Bone rivalry is one of the area’s best.

And Friday’s showdown didn’t disappoint.

Ayala got 100 yards rushing and two TD runs by CJ Sento to defeat Chino Hills, 21-20, in the season opener.

Sento’s second score came with less than two minutes to play and turned out to be the game winner.

He picked up those 100 yards on 20 carries.

Bryan Wilson’s stats weren’t ‘Wilson like,’ but the Bulldogs quarterback led his team to their sixth consecutive victory with the star sophomore at the helm (of the offense).

Wilson finished 12 of 30 for 150 yards.

He didn’t have a TD and was picked twice.

Wilson also rushed for 32 yards on eight carries.

Lytallion Payne had three catches for 59 yards.

Joseph Rodriguez tallied a sack and recovered a fumble in the end zone for Ayala.

In all, Ayala rushed for 161 yards on 34 carries.

For Chino Hills, Zane Poulter  had a fumble recovery for a scoop-and-score TD.

Bobby Johnson completed 10 of 20 passes for 156 yards.

Johnson had a TD pass to Tyrese Boss and was picked once.

Jermar Jackson scored once for the Huskies.

Up next: Ayala and Chino Hills will be back in action next Friday.

The Bulldogs travel to Los Altos and the Huskies head over to Diamond Ranch.

Box Score:
