Girls Volleyball:
Marshall Fundamental got tested in its 2021 season opener against Alverno Heights Academy.
And the Eagles passed that test in five games.
They won by scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-20, 8-25 and 15-10.
Lauren Sandoval had four aces in the win.
Alexis Delgado contributed four kills and Evelyn Mkhitarian added three aces, two kills and a pair of blocks.
Karmen Kojakafayan chipped in with four aces
Up next: The Eagles will travel to Glendale on Wednesday to take on Hoover at 3:30.

Marshall Fundamental coach, Jeffrey Thai: “During our preseason matches, our goal is to play as many of the players as possible in as many positions as possible. This gives the coaching staff a chance to see which combination of players work best for us once we go into our regular season. We have 18 players on this year’s varsity squad and we were able to play all of them in this match, hence the small stats.”
