Boys Basketball:
After four days of rest and enjoying their CIF-SS Division 3A championship, Glendora was back on the court Tuesday evening.
The Tartans took a 17-point lead into the break and went on to defeat El Camino Real, 56-44, in the first round of the CIF-State Division 3A playoffs.
Noah Smith scored a game-high 24 points, grabbed two rebounds and had two assists to lead the Tartans offense.
Smith was 4-of-6 from 3-point land.
GHS senior Austin Clark is in Hawaii for a trip that was planned and cleared long ago with Glendora coach Gordon Hamlow.
If GHS wins Thursday, they’ll have their leading scorer back on Saturday.
Ayden Green chipped in with nine points, four rebounds and an assist.
Braydon Wooldridge provided seven points, five rebounds and a pair of assists.
Luke Jacobson added six points, a game-high 15 rebounds and three assists.
Jack Anderson finished with five points, three boards and an assist.
Jacob Gates chipped in with three points, three rebounds and an assist.
And Chris Lee contributed two points and three rebounds.
Brody Bolotnick paced El Camino Real’s offense with 10 points and DeSean Robinson finished with eight points.
Up next: Glendora will host Shalhevet on Thursday night.
The Firehawks (21-3) defeated Nipomo, 63-43, in their first-round contest.
