Girls Basketball:
Pasadena jumped out to an early lead and the Bulldogs would cruise to a 63-46 victory over Redondo Union in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs.
Sydney Brumfield led the way with 19 points.
Brumfield scored nine of Pasadena’s 18 first-quarter points, which helped PHS get out to an early 12-point lead.
Olivia Hodges added 14 points.
Calli Stokes had a game-high 27 points for Redondo Union.
Kameria Piggee chipped in with 11 points in the win.
Sheridan Orange and Amanda Williams contributed nine points apiece for the Bulldogs.
Up next: PHS will host Rosary Academy on Saturday night at 7.
The Royals (14-4) defeated Los Altos, 77-39, in their first-round game.
