Baseball:
Sal Batres was nails on Wednesday.
The Northview pitcher went the distance in a 2-0, Valle Vista road victory at Covina.
Batres allowed just two hits, walked one and struck out five.
And he got the job done in an efficient 80 pitches.
Offensively, Luke Bauer singled and scored.
Andrew Baltazar had an RBI double.
And Batres helped his own cause by walking and having an RBI base hit.
Ken Rodriguez doubled for the Vikings and Dean Curley walked and singled.
Up next: Northview hopes to get the two-game sweep on Friday when they host Covina.
First pitch is set for 3:15.
