Boys Basketball:
After a couple games away, Malik Thomas was back in the saddle again.
Thomas scored a game-high 24 points and hit a pair of 3-pointers in three quarter of work.
The Spartans used a 61-24 run in the second and third periods combined to pull away for an 86-49 Baseline League victory.
Jaiden Smith and Brandon Aguirre had 10 points apiece for the Cougars.
RJ Smith and Spivey Word scored 13 points each in the win.
Up next: Damien will get their CIF-SS first-round matchup this Sunday at 10 a.m.
