Baseball:
Glendora’s chances of claiming the Palomares League’s No. 3 seed took a serious hit on Wednesday.
Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Claremont got one run in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to claim a 3-2 victory.
GHS now trails Claremont by two games and the Tartans have just three games remaining on their league schedule.
Max Suckley got the win after going three scoreless innings, scattering three hits and striking out one.
Carson Collett doubled and drove in both GHS runs.
Johnnie Valdez walked, singled twice and scored.
Jeff Isenhart went 2-for-4, and Shane Mion collected a pair of singles.
Johnnie Valdez endured yet another tough loss with little run support.
Valdez went 7 1/3 innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits.
He walked two and struck out six Claremont batters.
Adam Aguirre tripled and scored.
Kody Johnson had an RBI and run scored, and Kenny Wang walked and had a pair of singles.
Tommy Hernandez and Daniel Rios had RBI singles.
