Baseball:
If anyone questioned Burbank’s resolve after last week’s lopsided sweep at the hands of Arcadia, the Bulldogs were able to man-up on Tuesday and proved their doubters wrong.
Ian Schenk and Ryan King combined on a four-hit shutout and the Bulldogs defeated Crescenta Valley, 1-0, at Stengel Field.
Schenk got the win after going 5 1/3 scoreless innings and allowing four hits.
He walked one and struck out four CV batters.
Ryan King secured the save, going a perfect 1 2/3 innings of relief and striking out two.
Brendon Pehar had two of CV’s four hits.
Luca Cuneo and Jacob Deno had the other.
Brendon Pehar went 5 1/3 innings and allowed one run on three hits.
He walked one and struck out three Burbank batters.
Ryan King singled and scored the game’s only run.
Jaden Rez, Andy Herrera and Devin LeClair had one single apiece for the Bulldogs.
