Charter Oak Clinches at Least Share of Valle Vista League Title; Bongo Scores 34 Points in 79-28 Victory Over Northview

Boys Basketball:

Tuesday’s Valle Vista League basketball game between first-place Charter Oak and last-place Northview was going to be a heavy mismatch.

So much so that COHS star Andrew Bongo outscored the Vikings, 34-28.

And Bongo played just three quarters.

Charter Oak went on to defeat Northview, 79-28, and claimed at least a share of the VVL championship.

With one game to go, COHS leads Covina by one game, and they close out the regular season at fifth-place Diamond Ranch (1-6) on Thursday.

Bongo hit six 3-pointrs as part of his game-high 34 points.

Jay Gonzalez chipped in with 19 points and Sam Lizardo finished with 12.

Mills Perucho, Sam Alvarez and Sam Osi had six points apiece for the Vikings.
