Rancho Cucamonga has now won five consecutive Baseline League games after starting 1-4.
And with thanks to a 5-0 Chino Hills victory over Damien on Monday, the Cougars find themselves two games back of both the Huskies and Spartans with five games remaining.
Jacob Billings put RCHS on his back in the 7-2 victory over Etiwanda.
Billings went the distance, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits.
He walked one and struck out nine Eagles’ batters.
Austen Roellig doubled and scored.
Jack Holman walked and singled twice.
And Abraham Zapata had an RBI single for Etiwanda.
Alfredo Capacete went five innings and surrendered three runs (two earned) on five hits.
He walked five and fanned five RCHS batters.
The Cougars would get four sixth-inning runs (two earned) off of Eric Valles on two hits and three walks.
Jake Brown walked twice, singled, scored a pair of runs and had an RBI.
Jayden Lopez walked, singled, tripled, had an RBI and scored twice.
Michael Woodward went 2-for-4, with an RBI.
Bradyn France singled and scored.
Jacob McCombs had an RBI in the win.
