Monrovia Inching Closer to Rio Hondo League Title After 2-0 Victory at South Pasadena; Powers & Lorenzini Combine on 3-Hit Shutout

Monrovia got yet another stellar effort from its pitching staff in Friday’s 2-0 victory at South Pasadena.

Donovan Lorenzini and Chantz Powers combined on a three-hit shutout.

Lorenzini went 3 2/3 innings, allowing just one hit, walking one and striking out three Tigers’ batters.

And Powers gave the Wildcats 3 1/3 scoreless innings, surrendering just a pair of hits and struck out four.

Coleman Mitchell singled and scored.

Lorenzini helped the cause with an RBI base hit.

Shane Petersen also singled and drove in a run.

Nathan Thompson, Chantz Powers and Henry Baker had one single apiece in the Wildcats’ win.
