Marshall Fundamental Secures First Mission Valley League Championship in School History; Eagles Claim 5-2 Victory at SEM

Baseball:

Over the past 14 months, the world has endured an historic and deadly pandemic.

The Marshall Fundamental baseball program, however, wanted to make some history of their own.

And it’s the kind that everyone can get behind and embrace.

The Eagles clinched the first Mission Valley League championship in school history after a 5-2 victory at South El Monte.

Travis Delgado was credited with the win after going three scoreless and hitless innings.

Delgado walked four and struck out five SEM batters.

Andrew Medina and Mario Zamudio both had RBI base hit in the loss.

Felix Romero and Dorian Nava singled once and scored one run apiece for SEM.

Elijah Esquivel got the loss after allowing four runs on three hits.

He walked four and struck out a pair of Eagles’ batters in his four-inning stint.

Max Stukel had an RBI double and scored a run.

Tylr Kennedy had an RBI single and drove in another on a sac fly.

Nick Chew walked and scored and Wes Pendleton scored a run.

Travis Delgado walked and scored.
