Damien Secures Three-Game Sweep of Los Osos; Spartans Pound Out 10-1 Victory

Baseball:

Damien finished its three-game, Baseline League sweep of Los Osos on Friday.

The Spartans defeated the Grizzlies, 10-1, thanks to a 15-4 advantage in base hits.

Daniel Barrera got the win, allowing one run on two hits over his 4 2/3 innings.

He walked four and struck out five.

Seth Sumner closed out the victory with 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief.

Devean Alvarez hit a solo home run in the top of the third inning, but LOHS would not score again.

Kyle Fortenberry and Alvarez both went 2-for-3.

Korey Reed was stuck with the loss after surrendering six runs on nine hits over 3 1/3 innings.

He walked three and didn’t strike anyone out.

Alec Beck singled twice, doubled, scored twice and had an RBI.

Kaden Moeller walked, singled, doubled, had an RBI and three runs scored.

Sebastian Arguelles had a two-run single.

Robby Mansour singled, scored and had an RBI.

Ivan Aguirre went 3-for-3, and JD Dunn walked, scored and had an RBI.

Tyler Daley walked, singled and scored.

Dane Flashberg walked, singled twice, scored and had an RBI.

Christian Grino scored and had an RBI.
