One of the great things about league play is that everyone starts over again like the beginning of a new season.
San Dimas entered Wednesday’s Valle Vista League opener with Northview 1-8 and on a six-game losing streak.
Fast forward 48 hours and the Saints are 2-0 and sit atop the VVL standings.
After defeating Northview by 23 runs on Wednesday, San Dimas claimed a 5-3 victory at Covina on Friday afternoon.
The Saints offense was held scoreless through the first three innings and then got single runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings and two in the fifth.
Jordan Cervantes went the distance for Covina, allowing five runs on eight hits.
She walked four and struck out a pair of SDHS batters.
Three of the eight hits Cervantes surrendered were home runs.
Noelle Estephan walked twice, homered, scored two runs and had two RBIs.
Alexis Garcia singled twice and scored.
Meah Almarez went 2-for-4, with an RBI.
Jordan Hill hit a solo home run and Ella Falcetti walked, singled and hit a solo home run.
Hill was credited with the win after going five innings and allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits.
She walked one and struck out six.
Abbie Ambriz went two scoreless and struck out three to secure the save.
Lily Castorena walked, doubled, tripled and scored two runs for Covina.
Kennedy Griego had an RBI double.
Samantha Centeno singled, tripled and drove in two runs.
Up next: The Saints will host Charter Oak on Wednesday and the Colts travel to Diamond Ranch on the same day.
