It’s been said the true measure of one’s character is the way they respond to failure.
One day after a disappointing one-run loss to Bonita, the Glendora softball program scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning at Ayala in a 5-3 victory.
It’s the Bulldogs (7-1) first Palomares League setback in 2021.
Emily Leavitt went the distance and picked up the loss.
Leavitt was charged with five runs (four earned) on eight hits.
She didn’t walk anyone and struck out 12 GHS batters.
Ashley Waite went 3-for-4, with a double, RBI and two runs scored.
Haley Ganino and Allie Winovitch singled and scored.
Ashley Hibbard singled, doubled and drove in three runs.

Hibbard went the first three innings in the circle for GHS.
She surrendered three runs (one earned) on four hits.
Marissa Duarte was credited with the win.
Duarte went four scoreless innings, scattered three hits and fanned three Ayala batters.
Marissa Hassis went 3-for-4 from the Bulldogs’ leadoff spot.
She singled twice, doubled, scored and had an RBI.
Emily Leavitt walked and had an RBI single.
Aleanna Ramirez had an RBI single and Sydney Sensat walked, singled and scored.
