Iliana Cardenas Goes Distance & Strikes Out 8 in Azusa’s 6-2 Victory Over Nogales in Montview League Opener

Iliana Cardenas went the distance in Azusa’s Montview League opener on Tuesday.

Cardenas allowed two runs on seven hits in the 6-2 victory over Nogales.

She walked three and struck out eight Nobles’ batters to earn the win.

Micah Ibarra walked, singled twice and scored for Nogales.

Diana Ocegueda tripled and scored and Jamie Cervantes singled twice and drove in a run.

Ibarra was also stuck with the loss.

She allowed six runs on seven hits.

Angelian Correos singled, homered, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.

Gwendalyn Rivas went 2-for-3, with a double, two RBIs and scored two runs.

Juliana Canizales had an RBI double and Natalie Sosa singled twice and scored.

Up next: Azusa will travel to Gladstone on Thursday for another Montview League contest.
