Damien Uses Fourth Quarter Surge to Pull Away From Los Osos; Thomas Scores 33 Points in 72-48 Victory

Don’t let the final score fool you.

For three quarters, Los Osos was right there with Damien, trailing by just two points (39-37).

But the Spartans erupted for 33 points in the fourth quarter and ended up with a comfortable 72-48 victory.

Damien used a 22-point advantage in the final eight minutes to pull away from the Grizzlies.

They hit six of their nine 3 pointers over that stretch.

Malik Thomas went off for 33 points in the win.

RJ Smith added 11 points and Jimmy Oladokun had 10 for Damien.

Uriah Rojas led Los Osos with 15 points.

Jordan Taylor and Deacon Toliver chipped in 10 points apiece for the Grizzlies.

Up next: Damien will travel to Chino Hills and Los Osos will host Upland on Friday night.

The tip is set for 6:30.
