Malik Thomas Scores 17 Points in Damien’s 75-39 Baseline League Victory at Upland

Boys Basketball:

Damien bounced back quickly from its first loss in 2021.

Three days after a four-point setback to Etiwanda, the Spartans got out early and cruised by Upland, 75-39, in a Baseline League road game.

The Spartans outscored the Highlanders, 65-21, in the second and third quarters combined.

Malik Thomas led Damien with 17 points, all of which came in the second and third quarters.

Spivey Word finished with 16 points and Jimmy Oladokun chipped in with 10 points for the Spartans.

Chris Nickelberry had eight points and both Bradley Xie and Elijah Brown produced seven points apiece.

Harry Han chipped in with six points in the win.

Up next: Damien will host La Mirada today (Saturday) at 1.

And then the Spartans welcome Baseline League rival Los Osos to their gym on Tuesday night at 7:30.
