Girls Soccer:

Ayala stayed unbeaten in Palomares League play on Friday.

The Bulldogs got single goals in the first and second half to claim a 2-0 victory at Bonita.

Aliza Corona got Ayala out to a 1-0 lead and Liberty Ortiz scored in the second half.

Grayton Norman would make that stand up and had four saves in goal for the Bulldogs.

Game notes from Ayala coach, Ryan Casey: “Tonight was another tough battle against a good Bonita team. In the first half, Aliza was able to get on the end of a pass behind the back line and scored to make it 1-0 at the half. In the second half, Liberty took a shot from outside the box over the keeper’s head to make the score 2-0 and that’s how it ended. Our defending as a team was very good to always make things difficult for Bonita and never really gave them a clean look at goal. I honestly cannot give the players enough credit, they have battled through some really tough games and finding ways to get results. We have had multiple players go down with injuries this year, and the players who have stepped up in their place have been outstanding. The support from the players unable to be on the field has been just as important, giving the team much needed energy coming from the bench. It truly is a great group of not only soccer players but young woman that are there for each other no matter what.”

Box Score:
