St. Francis senior Evan Jernegan has patiently waited for his time to shine.
The Golden Knights football program always features a few marquee names, along with a number of stars in the making.
Jernegan’s time to shine is now, and while he’s been solid all season, he picked the first home game since the passing of their beloved leader, Jim Bonds, to break out in a huge way.
The two-way starter caught touchdown passes of 25, 5 and 30 yards from sophomore quarterback Jack Jacobs in the 63-26 victory over previously unbeaten Crespi on Saturday night.
His three TD catches more than doubled his season’s output to five receiving TD’s, which ties Evan for the team lead with Utah commit, Bryson Reeves.
Jernegan is also the Golden Knights’ leader in sacks.
Up next: St. Francis will host St. Paul (0-3) on Saturday night in the season finale.
