Boys Basketball:
Damien won its 10th game to begin the 2021 basketball season.
The Spartans used a 43-25 surge in the second half to pull away from Maranatha, 81-52, on Thursday.
Malik Thomas had a game-high 26 points and RJ Smith had 25.
Both Thomas and Smith had three 3-point baskets in the win.
Terrance Hampton led Maranatha with 24.
Martin Zarzuela added 11 and Marko Mihajilovic scored seven points for the Minutemen.
Jimmy Oladokun finished with nine points and Spivey Word chipped in with seven points for the Spartans.
