The San Dimas-Bonita rivalry is one of the best in the San Gabriel Valley.
And when these two proud baseball programs meet up, the intensity and passion is always there.
So when San Dimas rebounded from an 8-3 deficit to defeat Bonita, 11-10, in eight innings on Tuesday evening, the elation for the Saints was off the charts.
The showdown featured 21 combined runs, 29 hits and four errors.
Matt Romero went four innings, allowing three runs on four hits.
Matt DesMertes contributed 2 2/3 innings on the mound, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits.
He walked one and fanned three.
Alex Ramos was next, pitching 2 1/3 innings, and giving up two runs on four hits.
Kasen Khas was credited with the win after one inning and no runs allowed.
He walked two and struck out two
Paul Vasquez had a big day for San Dimas.
He went 2-for-2, with a walk, single, home run, two runs scored and three RBIs.
Vasquez hit a three-run shot in the Saints seven-run fifth inning and he scored the game winning run.
Ryan Castro walked and singled twice, the second of which drove in Vasquez to cap the comeback.
Landon White singled, doubled and scored twice.
