Muir quarterback Jack Clougherty is definitely making the most of his playing time.
In spite of playing just two quarters per game, because the Mustangs rotate a pair of quarterbacks, Clougherty is still thriving.
In Friday’s 50-0 Pacific League road beatdown of Burroughs, Clougherty played the first and third quarters.
He completed 22 of 31 passes for 323 yards and five TD’s.
In each of the five series that he was behind center, Muir scored touchdowns.
The distance of the five TD passes were from 19, 17, 35, 19 and 4 yards out.
Clougherty had two scoring strikes to Charles Bennett and one each to Mahki Clark and Baylin Brooks.
But the most special to Jack was a 35-yard, second-quarter connection with sophomore and little brother, Will Clougherty.
Clougherty now has nine TD’s and three picks in the Mustangs’ three games.
Up next: Muir (2-1) will face Burbank next Friday.
And then the Mustangs close out the abbreviated season with arch rival Pasadena at the Rose Bowl.
