Jacob Badawi is a multi-threat athlete.
He’s currently a leading contributor in the success of both the Ayala baseball and football programs at the same time.
On Friday night, Badawi’s sole focus was on football and the visiting Charter Oak Chargers, who were making their season debut.
Ayala got 136 yards rushing on 15 carries and three scores from Badawi.
He also caught a nine-yard score from freshman quarterback, Bryan Wilson.
The Bulldogs would go on to secure a 35-14 victory, and improved to 3-0.
Vincent Farrar, the son of Charter Oak head coach/athletic director Dom Farrar, and grandson of the late-great Lou Farrar, who led thee Chargers program for 50 years until his passing last year, had a solid season opener.
The junior quarterback hit Sam Mason on 30-and-50 yard touchdown passes.
Ayala’s defense was as tenacious as ever, causing two turnovers.
One came via interception (Xylen Crockett) and the other a fumble recovery in the end zone by Jacob Munoz after thee Bulldogs punter had pinned Charter Oak at the 1-yard line.
