South Hills baseball coach Darren Murphy finally got a chance to sit back and relax a little bit.
In the Huskies first two games, they defeated Charter Oak, 3-2, in nine innings, and four days later, they claimed a 4-3 victory over Chino Hills.
Thankfully, on Thursday, South Hills would cruise to a 7-0 victory over Cypress thanks to some solid pitching.
Matthew Lorenzano went the first five innings to pick up the win.
He didn’t allow a run, surrendered three hits, walked four and fanned three.
Sterling Patrick closed out the victory with two scoreless inning of relief on two hits, didn’t walk a batter and struck out a pair of Cypress batters.
Luke Matlock was stuck with the loss.
He allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits in just 2 1/3 innings.
Matlock walked three and struck out one.
South Hills got two more off Ryan Burge in the sixth inning.
Will Medina walked, doubled and scored.
Ethan Anderson and Jeremiah Sibrian both walked and scored.
Johnathan Hernandez walked, singled and scored.
Gibby Morales singled, scored and had an RBI.
Anthony Rasmussen walked twice and singled.
Up next: South Hills will host Foothill on Saturday at 4.
