Rancho Cucamonga left Glendora High School on Monday disappointed that they hadn’t played their best baseball in a loss to the Tartans.
But the Cougars snapped back into form quickly.
Jake Brown just shoved it all game, and the Cougars dominated La Quinta, 9-0, on Tuesday.
Brown threw a three-hit shutout.
He struck out seven with no walks, and closed out the Blackhawks on 93 pitches.
Brandon Leon, Marcus Lafayette and Isaias Castaneda each singled and accounted for the La Quinta offense.
Lafayette got the loss for the Blackhawks, going all six innings, allowing nine runs on 11 hits.
He walked two and fanned four.
Jake Brown helped his own cause with a walk, single and two runs.
Jayden Lopez walked and scored a pair of runs.
Jacob Billings singled, hit a three-run home run and drove in four runs.
Jacob McCombs collected a pair of singles, scored and drove in two.
Wilson Dunn went 3-for-3, with a run and two RBIs.
Aaron Whobrey singled and scored.
Noel Cesena singled, scored and finished with one RBI.
