Pasadena Quarterback Dante Coronel Lights Up Burbank Defense With 4 TD Passes; Bulldogs Open 2021 Season With 42-26 Victory

Pasadena had been waiting 15 months to hit someone.

And the Bulldogs took it out that angst on Burbank in the season opener for both Pacific League programs.

PHS took a 14-point lead into the half and defeated Burbank, 42-26, at the Rose Bowl on Friday.

Dante Coronel opened his senior year in style.

Coronel threw four TD passes to lead the PHS offense.

Coronel connected with Kevin Serrato on 17 and 50-yard scores.

He and Mekhi Fox would hook up on a 21-yard score.

And Coronel would hit Jamir Allen on an 80-yard bomb to give the Bulldogs a 20-0 lead.

Daylon Beasley capped the Pasadena insurgency with a 5-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

PHS could earn a Pacific League season sweep over both Burbank programs, when the Bulldogs battle Burroughs this coming Thursday.
